When I found out Nick had passed away my heart sank.
Anyone who met Nick will know how much he was loved and respected from family, friends or people he just met while he was shopping in Walsall.
I will never forget how he always welcomed me into his home when me and Clare were kids teaching us every day different languages or just anything history.
I remember our last conversation where he was putting the world to right and talking about one thing he loved *HISTORY*
Nick you was an amazing, talented, caring man who will be missed by many 💖

I only met Nick twice. Myself and Clare went to visit him one afternoon then the next morning. His face when we walked in was magical, obviously over the moon the see Clare but he remembered that Clare had a boyfriend and I introduced myself, he was instantly interested in me and asked me questions about myself and said that I look Celtic. And asked about my heritage and was really interested, and the same conversation the next day (vascular dementia). I found it so refreshing to have someone be so interested in me and I feel he would be exactly the same with anyone new. From my brief meeting with him I got the feeling he had a real interest in people and history and who they were and where they came from. I found him impressive with his knowledge of history, people, and his ability to talk different languages. A great example was one of the carers spoke to him in Punjabi I think, and he spoke back the same. And I could tell she took a shine to him, and tbh why wouldn’t she. He was charismatic and funny, he definitely owned the room. But the best tribute I could give Nick, is what a wonderful woman he’s raised in my girlfriend Clare, she is wonderful, kind, strong and passionate. She idolised Nick, and she got strength from him and I get strength from her. It was an absolute pleasure to have met him and I’m so glad I did
