Nicholas AnthonyWOODNick passed away recently at home, aged 72, and will be sadly missed by family and friends. As a well known and much liked Macclesfield character, he was landlord of the Queens Hotel, the Travellers Rest and the Castle Inn. Nick requested a private cremation with no ceremony. Donations in Nick's memory should be made to either The East Cheshire Hospice or The Christie at Macclesfield General Hospital.

I took my time to write a tribute to you Nick!
This my friend is how you were!
You made a lasting impression on all who came to meet
Your jovial face, charm and charisma, being around you was always a treat.
With a story to tell about days in the pubs and the fun and the laughs you bestowed on those around.
I always asked to sit next to you when we all went for meals.
I know we have lost such a lovely person.....but heaven has gained an angel!
RIP Nick love Paul, Joanne and family xxx

Tuesday lunch at the castle was always a date with Nick’s unique dry sense of humour and Ivy flitting in and out of the kitchen. His mum Dorothy and Aunt Margaret and myself were good friends and between the two of them and June ‘Gosling’ Nick is not without friends and family up there.
TaTa for now…

All the good work you did and continue to do in death. That's the person you were. Kind considerate and thinking only of others. RIP
