HaroldWOODSRetired Joiner and Funeral Director, Mr Harold Woods, of Lacey Court, Haslingden, died on Friday, January 8, aged 92. Mr Woods ran his own business from the Black Bull Yard, Haslingden, for many years, until the merger of the local firms into Johnson, Durning and Woods. He was well known in the town. He was a member of Haslingden Methodist Church. He was an amateur cricketer in his youth and continued to follow Lancashire League cricket throughout his life. Aside from sport, he was a keen aquarist, keeping tropical fish all his life. Married to the late Sheila for 58 years, he leaves children Roger, Alison, and John, daughters-in-law Joan and Madeleine, son-inlaw Roger, six grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. A service will be conducted by Rev Louise Makin at Accrington Crematorium on Tuesday, February 2, but attendance will be limited to family members only because of the coronavirus regulations. The family hopes to hold a Thanksgiving service for his life later in the year when circumstances permit.
