My darling Daddy,
my home,
my safest place.
Loving you has been the greatest privilege of my life.
Being your daughter shaped how I love, how I see the world, how I understand gentleness, strength, and honour.
You were never loud with your love.
You didn’t need to be.because it lived in your presence, your steadiness, your patience.
In the way you never made me feel small, afraid, or unseen.
When I was a little girl and you put me to bed, I would hold your hand so you couldn’t leave until I’d fallen asleep. I needed to know you were there, you stayed, every time.
When you were leaving this world, I promised I would do the same.
I held on and the way you held on for me. I did not want a second away from you.
Daddy, you taught me what a gentleman is without ever saying the word.
You showed me that real strength never humiliates, never competes, never harms.
Because of you, I know what safety feels like.
Because of you, I know what love should never cost.
And because of you, I will never accept anything less than kindness, respect, and truth.
Having had a father like you makes the pain of losing you unbearable and the gratitude immeasurable.
But the legacy you left is not something I mourn; it is something I promise to live.
You are not gone from me.
You are in my voice, my values, my tenderness, my courage.
You walk beside me in everything I do.
I love you beyond time, beyond form, beyond this life.
That love does not end.
It does not weaken.
It does not die.
It is eternal.
Your daughter.
