MaryYATESOf your charity please pray for the repose of the soul of Mary of Longton, who died peacefully on 6th February 2026 aged 86 years whilst in the loving care of her family at The Douglas Macmillan Hospice, fortified by the rites of the Holy Catholic Church, on whose soul sweet Jesus have mercy. Dearly beloved wife to David, devoted mother to Gillian and Simon, dearest mother-in-law to Paul and Chika, a loving and much loved grandmother to Ellie, Lydia, Zeke and Aria and great grandmother to Cecilia, a dear sister-in-law, aunt and friend.

Reception into Church and Requiem Mass at St Gregory's RC Church, Longton on Thursday 5th March 2026 at 1:00pm, followed by cremation at Carmountside Crematorium.

Would all relatives and friends please meet at the Church. No flowers by request, donations are preferred to The Douglas Macmillan Hospice.

Mary was my first Chair of Governors as Headteacher of St Gregory's following amalgamation of the infants and juniors. Such a lovely lady who was so supportive in that role. Although I now live in Merseyside I will do my very best to attend. Eileen Rogan
