BettyYEARSLEYWith great sadness, we announce the passing of Betty Yearsley of Crewe, Cheshire, who died peacefully in the care of Telford Court at the age of 79. Betty was the devoted wife of Bill, a loving mum to Angela and Andrew, and a treasured Granny and Great-Granny. She was dearly loved by many others, including her church family at Gresty Road Evangelical Church, colleagues and pupils from Wyche County Primary School, neighbours, and close friends. Betty will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched. We give thanks for Betty's life and the many ways she served and cared for others. At Gresty Road Evangelical Church, Betty was fondly known as "Auntie Betty", where she faithfully served for many years as a Sunday School leader. Her faith was not only something she believed but something she lived out daily, through the kindness she showed, the joy she created for children, and the time she gave so generously to others. Many will also remember her as Mrs Yearsley from Wyche County Primary School (now Nantwich Academy), where she worked as a Teaching Assistant. With patience, warmth, and encouragement, she helped nurture and guide many young children during their early years of learning. Betty was a vibrant and much-loved member of her community, known for her kindness and her special gift for making others feel valued and supported. In later years, Alzheimer's gradually changed the course of her life. Yet even as the years brought challenges, the essence of who Betty was, her warmth, humour, and love remained constant. For the past nine years, the staff at Telford Court cared for Betty with great compassion, while her family stood faithfully by her side. Today, we remember not the illness that marked her later years, but the fullness of her life, a life lived in faith, service, and love.

A funeral service will take place at Gresty Road Evangelical Church on 27th March 2026 at 11:30, followed by a burial.

Flowers are welcome, and donations for Gresty Road Evangelical Church in memory of Betty are gratefully received. Please note that no official JustGiving or crowdfunding pages have been arranged. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Gavin Palin Funeral Services Betty's legacy lives on in the lives she helped shape and in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. A truly remarkable lady.

Sincere condolences to Betty’s family and friends, for over forty years Betty was the pied piper of the area, collecting children on her way to church, I at 60 used to go to Church and Thursday Club, as did our children. Auntie Betty was a beautiful soul, inside and out, Fly High Beautiful Lady. Thank you to Bill, Angela, and Andrew for generously sharing your beautiful Wife, and Mum.

Week in, week out, you would round us up for the walk to Thursday Club and Sunday School, come rain or shine. I wished my life away to be old enough to go to Monday's group with the big kids! This is such a beautiful tribute, and testament to how loved you are. There are many of us who will remember you fondly. Rest easy Auntie Betty, love to your family and those who knew you best xxx
